Southern Disposal Service has been part of the Polk County landscape for more than three decades. Gary Pasquinzo, our original owner and CEO, started Southern Disposal in 1979 with just one truck and one driver. Today, Southern Disposal Service consists of 15 trucks and 25 employees. We are more than a waste removal service. We are now also a complete recycling business.
We collect waste from around the county and transport it to Mena, Arkansas where we sort it into recyclable parts. Cardboard, newspaper, plastic, and metal are all processed separately, and then sold by the ton. This recycling process benefits not only the environment, but offsets operating expenses keeping our customer’s expenses to a minimum.
Today, despite substantially more state and federal compliance requirements in the disposal business, Southern Disposal continues to maintain the highest level of responsibility and commitment to our customers. We are also dedicated to remaining true to Gary’s original work ethic and business philosophy.
We’re a lot like the U.S. Post Office. It doesn’t matter if it is raining or snowing. We still have to do our job. We are always conscious of the needs of our customers and our responsibility to the community; and we look forward to serving the community for years to come.
It’s no wonder Southern Disposal’s business is always picking up!
